It was January, 2008, in Brisbane, Asutralia. I looked at my wife and said "Diana, are you sure you're ready for this? Well, I guess we'd better call the folks!" Six months later, we were sipping margaritas with Mom & Dad at Chuy's, back in my hometown of Austin, Texas. After ten years of life in Australia, the Shermans were back in the USA.

A 10-year veteran of the hectic marketing field, I decided that I needed a change of career to go with our change of countries - something that would "make a difference." So while considering my new career and direction, I took a job at Austin Homebrew Supply. While having a ball helping Austinites make beer, wine, cheese and soda, I heard about a new "green collar" opportunity to become an "energy auditor," and it struck a chord in me.

The certification classes were neither easy nor cheap, but after a doing lot of studying, filling out a lot of paperwork and purchasing lot of equipment (insert montage with inspiring music here), I slapped a magnetic sign on the side of my beloved old Aussie "ute," Foxy, and Axis Green Services was born - a celebration of both local and personal change, and a chance for me to really make a difference!
